Mary McKiernan, Owner and Head Trainer
Mary, a seasoned equestrian with over 30 years of experience, has dedicated her life to the world of hunter jumpers. A graduate of Central Michigan University, she combined her passion for horses with her teaching career, instructing 8th grade students while simultaneously pursuing her riding and training ambitions.
Mary's commitment to horsemanship is evident in her professional journey. Her years as a middle school teacher have equipped her with valuable skills, enabling her to approach riding instruction with a positive and empathetic mindset. She understands that each student is unique and requires tailored teaching methods to foster their growth and success.
Continuously seeking professional development, Mary works closely with renowned international trainers. This collaboration allows her to bring fresh perspectives to her farm and stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
Ricci Tarockoff, Assistant Head Trainer
Ricci, a seasoned equestrian with over a decade of experience, has dedicated her career to the world of hunter jumpers. She actively competes and coaches students at prestigious competitions, including MHJA, HJAM, and USEF events.
Ricci's educational background, coupled with her passion for riding and teaching, creates a unique and effective learning environment at Shenanigans Farm. Her Master of Science in Molecular Biotechnology provides a solid foundation for understanding equine health and well-being, while her positive teaching style fosters a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for students of all ages and skill levels.
